Week 5 | Day 1 – LIVING FREE, LIVING OFFERED – Romans 6:11-15

Since we are united with Christ, we must reckon ourselves as truly dead to sin and alive to God. Grace doesn’t make sin safe; it makes freedom possible. Our new state (saved by grace) fuels our daily standing (dependent obedience)—yet if we refuse sin’s rule and instead offer every part of ourselves to God as tools for His righteousness—God can move in and through us for His glory. Under grace—we are no longer under law and sin is no longer our master, instead, Jesus is King of the Hill in our lives with the Spirit empowering us to glorify God and resist the schemes of the enemy.

APPLICATION

1 - Consider Daily Your True Identity

Begin each day affirming your identity in Christ—saying that in Christ, I am dead to sin and alive to God. You are no longer a sinner but a saint who sometimes sins—you are not sinless but should sin less.

2 - Dethrone Sin—Enthrone Jesus

Don’t let it “reign” (v.12). To help—set Spirit-led guardrails, avoid fleshly triggers, starve your old appetites, and never toy with or tempt temptation.

3 - Offer Your Members

Present your mind, eyes, mouth, hands, time, and wallet to God as instruments of righteousness. Make conscious presentations throughout the day (like praying— Lord, use my words in this meeting or event.

4 - Depend on the Spirit Moment-by-Moment

Victory is not willpower but God-in-you power that comes through the Holy Spirit. As such, breathe prayers like—Holy Spirit, lead me, and give me a desire to obey Your prompts in real time.

5 - Stand in Grace—not in Your Ability but in God’s Ability

When you stumble, run to Jesus immediately. Confess, receive cleansing, and re-offer yourself because grace trains us to say “no” to sin and “yes” to God.

6 _ Replace Appetites with Spiritual Pursuit

Trade fleshly ambitions, appetites, and attitudes for Spirit-shaped desires through Scripture, worship, service, and Christ-centered community.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, thank You for saving me and for giving me the power to live daily in Your grace. Today I count myself dead to sin and alive to You. Keep me alert—never dropping my guard or flirting with temptation. By Your Spirit, help me offer every part of my life as an instrument of righteousness. Lead me through every test into deeper intimacy and dependence on You. Amen.
